Hi,

Welcome to Basicweightlosstips.com

As we grow, we have to expect certain changes in our bodies. There are some things we can get by on when we are young that we cannot get by on later in life. That is why we have to start making some changes in our lifestyle especially in our eating and general living habits. Good health and keeping trim by maintaining a good body weight are important to the way we feel about ourselves. However, maintaining a healthy lifestyle should become a priority to all and sundry.  You can lose weight either by decreasing your calorie intake or increasing the number of calories you burn. Any weight loss strategy should include both, but if you want to lose weight fast, exercise is essential. Physical exercise is important for maintaining physical fitness and can contribute positively to maintaining a healthy weight, building and maintaining healthy bone density, muscle strength, and joint mobility, promoting physiological well-being, reducing surgical risks, and strengthening the immune system.

Weight can be conveniently measured using the body mass index (BMI) calculated as the persons weight in Kilograms divided by the square of the persons height in meters (m2).

BMI = weight in kilograms
(height)2 in metres

A normal and healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9kg/m2
Overweight is defined as a BMI of between 25 and 29.9kg/m2
Obesity is a BMI above 30kg/m2
Morbid obesity is a BMI of more than 40kg/m2

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health.

By keeping your weight in the healthy range, you're less likely to be troubled by illnesses in your later years. Regular exercise and a healthy diet are crucial when it comes to controlling your weight. A balanced diet means getting the right types and amounts of foods and drinks to supply nutrition and energy for maintaining body cells, tissues, and organs, and for supporting normal growth and development. A well-balanced diet provides enough energy and nutrition for optimal growth and development. Please note that you do not need to starve yourself in order to lose weight.

Stay healthy.
